The China women's national volleyball team represents the People's Republic of China in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches governed by Chinese Volleyball Association. They are one of the leading and most successful squads in women's international volleyball, having won ten championships titles in the three major international competitions of volleyball, including five World Cups, two World Championships and three Olympic titles. The team twice took part in the Summer Olympics, finishing in eighth place at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California., and 5th place in the 2008 Summer Olympics. The leading volleyball nations in Asia are Iran, China and, to a lesser extent, South Korea and Japan.
The People's Republic of China have dominated sitting volleyball at the Paralympic Games since it was introduced in 2004, winning the first three gold medals on offer. They defeated the Netherlands in the 2004 final in Athens, before back-to-back gold medal match victories over the United States of America in 2008 and 2012.

Lang captained the Chinese women's volleyball team that won the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and then as a coach, led Team China to victory at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. At the Tokyo Olympics, the Chinese women's volleyball team played as the defending champion. In the lineup, Zhu Ting (captain), Yuan Xinyue, Gong Xiangyu, Zhang Changning, Liu Xiaotong, Ding Xia and Yan Ni are all members of the Rio Olympic champion team. However, in this competition, the Chinese women's volleyball team performed poorly.
Since Lang Ping coached the Chinese women's volleyball national team, she has been implementing a taller style of play. The height of the Chinese women's volleyball team has continued to rise, and the average height has been the world's first since 2018. After the selection of the national training team in 2021, the average height of this women's volleyball team is 187cm, and the top 5 have reached or exceeded 195cm.
